You will find all kinds of recipes to satisfy your appetite and many of the ingredients are already in your kitchen. This cookbook is a collection of recipes that Libby Avery, the author of Cooking for Food Allergies Everyday & Gourmet, has created over the last 30 years for her daughter who has been severely allergic to egg & dairy since birth.

In 1978 Libby began experimenting in the kitchen in order to create yummy foods for her daughter to enjoy.  “I wanted her to be able to eat all of the things her classmates and family were eating. It took a lot of tries but after tweaking family recipes and recipes I found in other cookbooks by experimenting with substitutions, she was finally able to experience the joy of eating,” says Libby.  Along the way Libby has created many of her own recipes which you will also find in the cookbook.

The most important thing to remember when using Cooking for Food Allergies Everyday & Gourmet Libby says, “is to have fun and keeping experimenting.”

What's in the Cookbook?

Cooking for Food Allergies Everyday & Gourmet has over 200 recipes that are egg & dairy-free. There are recipes for your “Everyday” meal needs and there are recipes to satisfy your “Gourmet” appetite.

Libby begins the cookbook with a pantry list, a list of items that are essential in any kitchen. The cookbook also comes with a grocery list, the “must haves” for the cookbook. Additionally, the cookbook has a list that tells you about great egg & dairy substitutions and where to buy them. There is also a section devoted to explaining what to look for on labels and on the list of ingredients when shopping at the grocery store. There are many other words used to list the use of egg & dairy and it is important to be aware of these words so that you know what to avoid.
